Remembrance Day Assembly

This entry was posted in Oakville Elementary News, Rotherglen News.

This past Thursday, we held our annual Remembrance Day Ceremony. It was an opportunity for us to come together as a school  community to demonstrate our respect for the many men and women who dedicated their lives to fight for the freedoms that we enjoy today. Our slide presentation was a moving tribute to these men and women, and featured the family and extended family members of students and staff who have served their country. We congratulate the assembly committee for all their hard work to prepare for this special event. Congratulations to the musical performers, speakers and singers. Our assembly was a poignant reminder of our need to be mindful and grateful for the freedoms we enjoy in Canada. A special thank you to Lt. Colonel Payne, a Rotherglen parent, for speaking to our assembly about why we should remember, and making our assembly a memorable gathering for all of us.
