News from Casa Room 1

The children in Room 1 have been working hard to settle into classroom routines and getting to know each other. We have been doing many fun group activities and crafts. This month we enjoyed making apple cinnamon play-doh and pinecone art, playing sound bingo, and creating special placemats that the children will use each day at lunch!
We had a tremendous time participating in the 4th annual Terry Fox Day today! The children prepared for this event by learning about the life of Terry Fox and all of the ways that he was a true hero.
During the month of October we will be learning all about Pumpkins! The children will learn the parts of a pumpkin, as well as the lifecycle of a pumpkin. We will do a fun pumpkin science activity called “Pump-cano”, we will explore the inside of pumpkins, and we will discover what makes pumpkins sink or float!
