A Chair with a Story: Rotherglen at Bronte Harbour

This summer, visitors to Bronte Harbour will have the opportunity to enjoy Rotherglen School’s contribution to the At Home in Bronte Muskoka Chair Project, a community-wide public art initiative that transforms iconic Muskoka chairs into vibrant works of art displayed along the waterfront. Since 2017, the project has brought together schools, families, artists, businesses, and community groups to celebrate creativity, storytelling, and community spirit through unique chair designs showcased for all to enjoy.

Rotherglen’s chair, The Compassionate Explorer: A Map of Growth, was inspired by our pillars of Community, Experience, and Opportunity and reflects the journey of a Rotherglen student. The design features meaningful landmarks such as the Forest of Curiosity, Harbour of Heart, and Peak of Potential, illustrating the growth, exploration, empathy, and collaboration that define the student experience at our school.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our teachers, Mrs. Suleiman, Ms. Birsa, and Mr. Coleman for the time, energy, creativity, and care they devoted to this project. Their willingness to take on this initiative reflects well on Rotherglen, and we are proud to be part of an event that celebrates community and connection.
