Biodiversity Workshop in Grade 6
As part of their Biodiversity unit, Grade 6 students enjoyed a workshop all about microscopes with Scientist in Schools last week. Developing their observation skills and being able to describe what they see, students used a variety of tools to examine the world more closely. It was fascinating to see what velcro looks like magnified 400x. The cells of a bee’s wing are so delicate. We were astonished to find the moving hydra in a drop of pond water! The world is awesome – definitely more than meets the eye!
