Our first R.E.A.C.H. Legacy Project, Mission Pawsible, was a tremendous success! The goal of Class 8C’s project was to raise $1000.00 and collect canned pet food for the Oakville and Milton Humane Society, also known as OMHS.

Every year, each Grade 8 class researches different organizations that support Halton’s community. The students in each class then choose one organization to support by planning a school wide event to bring attention to the organization’s cause and to raise funds for the organization as a whole.

During the week of November 20, Class 8C hosted three exciting events. The first was a raffle for a cute and cuddly plush dog.

The second event was a pet food drive.

On Tuesday, November 21, students were invited to come to school dressed in comfy, blue clothes! The colour blue is the colour of the humane society’s logo! Students dress down in the colour blue as a reminder of how comfortable animals make us feel and how wonderful it would be if we could return the favour and make them feel more comfortable too. Students were encouraged to donate $5.00.

This exciting project raised a spectacular grand total of $2,172 and it collected 4,565 cans of pet food! Class 8C is extremely proud of all that was accomplished!
