During the summer months, library staff carefully curate new non-fiction books that align with our curriculum, as well as the latest in fiction across all grade levels.
In preparation for the 2025/2026 school year, we have significantly expanded our Junior Fiction collection and introduced a new collection of junior graphic novels.
Additionally, we have begun purchasing exceptional titles to welcome our new primary students and ensure a smooth transition as they begin their school year.
New books will continue to be added to our already extensive library collection all throughout the year!

It’s summer camp time… even for our teachers! This week, Ms. Barbita and Ms. Samworth spent the week participating in the Summer Teaching Institute, offered through the Archives of Ontario. Monday and Tuesday were spent at the Archives of Ontario learning about how to engage history/ social studies students through the use of different sources and game-based learning. Wednesday focused on the significance of object based learning, where they visited the Gardiner Museum and the Royal Ontario Museum. At the Gardiner Museum they discussed perspectives and conversations surrounding “ownership” of history and participated in a clay workshop. In the afternoon, they put their knowledge to the test and completed a scavenger hunt at the ROM. On Thursday, they went on a walking tour of Old Toronto, visited Mackenzie house for a workshop about newspaper printing, and then went to the City of Toronto archives to participate in a filmmaking workshop. Lastly, on Friday they were back at the City of Toronto archives to tour the space and work with primary sources.
