Upper School (Grade 7-8)

Rotherglen students in Grades 7 and 8 are taught 11 different subjects by a team of nine specialty teachers. Included in those 11 subjects are the six core subjects of English, mathematics, French, science, history and geography. Complementing these to create a balanced curriculum are physical education, art, music, computers and health and our life skills programming.

The goal in our Upper School program is to successfully prepare each individual student with the skills they require for their entrance into secondary school.

To achieve this goal, we focus on the following principles:

  • Instilling a moral obligation to achieve to one’s ability;
  • Providing an enriched academic program;
  • Focusing on the development of organizational skills.

All Grade 7 and 8 students write four final exams during the second week of June. Each exam is 90 minutes in length and covers the year’s curriculum in the areas of French, mathematics, science and English.
