Grade 1 Students Visit African Lion Safari

This entry was posted in Oakville Elementary News, Rotherglen News.

The Grade One students had a fantastic field trip at the African Lion Safari! The students saw majestic birds and animals from around the world along the seven large Game Reserves featuring Nairobi Sanctuary, Simba Lion Country, Timbavati Lion Country, Wankie Bushland Trail, Rocky Ridge Veldt, Australasia, and The Americas.

The students caught sight of many animals on the guided tour bus that included the Fallow Deer, Lion, the Greater One-Horned Rhinoceros, Eland, The Rothschild Giraffe, Zebra, Cheetah, and Oryx to name just a few.

The Birds of Prey, and the Reptile shows were a delight to watch! Students took the “African Queen” Boat Cruise and watched the Spider Monkey swing on trees. Many of our students journeyed aboard the “Nature Boy” scenic railway as it travelled through an area inhabited by animals and birds native to Southern Ontario.

The field trip to the African Lion Safari was a huge success! We would like to thank all our parent volunteers for accompanying us and taking care of our students during the safari.
