Grade 1 Students Visit African Lion Safari

This entry was posted in Oakville Elementary News, Rotherglen News.

The Grade 1 students had a wonderful day at the African Lion Safari. The weather was perfect.  The children enjoyed the guided tour through the park, as well as the birds of prey show and the elephant swim. The students were able to classify many vertebrates they saw on Safari. They recognized many animals from the “Who Am I?” cards they have used in the classroom. They also saw, first hand, the animals’ habitats, physical features and learned about their diet through observation and presentations. It was a very busy day and many of the children fell asleep on the bus on the way back to Rotherglen! We thank our parent volunteers for their help and support. As always, it was a great learning experience!
