Grade 3 Students Visit the Ontario Science Centre
The Grade 3 students enjoyed their recent field trip to the Ontario Science Centre. The students explored and had fun with geometry. They discovered the wonder of mathematics through puzzles and hands-on exploration. They played with mirrors and marvelled at how 2D shapes transform into 3D figures. They also created symmetrical designs with magnetic construction sets and identified geometric properties. Additionally, they explored living things and their adaptations through hands-on interaction. For example, what do familiar species have in common with animals and plants from exotic locations and what role do non-living elements such as air, water and soil play in the environment? Furthermore, the students examined an animal skull and touched a hissing cockroach – if they dared! It was a lot of fun and very educational!
