Grade 6 Students are “Finding Heart”

In August of 2016, Gord Downie asked all Canadians to look at the true history of this country and to “Do Something” to change the state of Indigenous-settler relations for the better.

As part of their learning in Social Studies, Grade 6 students wanted to be part of the reconciliation process and take action.

ReconciliACTION is the answer to the call to “Do Something” to raise awareness and do something to improve the relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples.  Change starts with every single one of us, and everybody can make an impact.

With this project called “Finding Heart”, the Grade 6 students had a goal of creating powerful representations to show what meaningful reconciliation looks like.
