On Thursday, October 20, the Grade 8 Leaders travelled to Food For Life’s distribution centre. Food For Life, this year’s R.E.A.C.H Fall Food Drive recipient, is an important, local organization that sources food and shares it with our neighbours in need through their many community partnerships.

The Grade 8 Leaders were tasked with sorting perishable food that would later that day be shared with the public. The students diligently arranged donated peppers, apples, and potatoes into bins for delivery. They also toured the Food For Life facility to learn more about the impact food insecurity has on families and how Food For Life provides a unique niche among relief charities in that they focus on redistributing fresh, nutritious food.

The visit was an excellent opportunity to see firsthand the impact Food For Life is having on so many people, and the Grade 8 Leaders were proud to assist such an essential organization.
