This past week, a large number of our Grade 8 students attended WE Day in Toronto. WE Day, an initiative of Free the Children, is a celebration of youth making a difference in their local and global communities. It is a one-day rally that brings together tens of thousands of students from across the G.T.A. to celebrate and support each other in their goal to be active citizens of the world and to commit to positive social change in their schools and communities.
“We Day was a fantastic, inspirational day. It was exciting and got everyone out of their chairs, dancing and singing along with the performers. This day inspired 20,000+ people who attended to help change the world. It was an honour to experience such excitement and love from people all over the world. They spoke about things like giving villages fresh water and helping girls get an education. We are so grateful to have attended this day and to see people making a positive change to make the world a better place.”
