News from Casa Room 4

During the month of December, Room 4 students were enthusiastic to learn about holidays around the world. The holidays we studied were:  Hanukkah, Eid, Kwanzaa, Christmas, and Diwali. We learned new terminology, including dreidel, mubarak, kinara and diyas. We discovered that all these celebrations have something in common: they are about spending quality time with your loved ones, loving, sharing, giving and gratitude! We furthered our studies by making a project related to these festivities, as well as creating a foamy painted reindeer. Over the holidays, we hope you were able to enjoy a nice warm drink in your new painted mugs. They were so much fun to make! We hope that you had a relaxing break and are ready to embrace the New Year!

We are fortunate to be living in a country where we are able to experience all the different seasons! In January, Room 4 will learn how the weather changes as the earth moves through the cycle of the seasons, as well as how humans, animals and plants adjust to these changes. We will complement the theme with a related craft and a project.
