News from Pre-Casa – Room 3

We hope that your time with family and friends this holiday season was filled with love and the making of many fond memories.
December was a very busy month for Pre-Casa with plenty of excitement in the air. We started the month with the spirit of giving to the Toys for Tots charity drive. The children listened to stories about the meaning of being charitable and the feelings involved in giving to others. For a preschooler, this is quite a concept to grasp and we are so very proud of them and thankful to their families for their incredible generosity. We also spent the month learning about the many holidays that are celebrated around the world. The children listened to stories, prepared crafts and coloured different pictures about Christmas, Hanukkah, Diwali, Eid, and Lunar New Year. They were very enthusiastic about sharing their holiday celebrations, and some seemed to celebrate everything this year!
We are looking forward to welcoming the children back to school and hearing about all their wonderful adventures. During the month of January, the children will be exploring their sense of sight, touch, smell, taste, and sound. They will learn how we use each of our 5 senses in everyday life as they compare and classify items found in our classroom environment.
