What a busy month December turned out to be! December is always a great month to introduce some of the different celebrations that happen throughout the world. By exploring festivals such as Diwali, Eid, Quanzaa and Hanukkah children began to develop an appreciation for diversity. We have read books and discussed the traditions and importance of each celebration.
We were also busy preparing for our Holiday Concert, which was a wonderful and successful event. The children were very proud of their accomplishment. The teachers and administration also felt this pride. We have talented group of performers!
During December the children also enjoyed completing projects and crafts. They made a snowman, winter scenes, reindeer, and Christmas tree ornaments. We also participated in a toy drive accompanied our Character Education theme of Generosity. We hope all families had a safe and happy holiday and we look forward to all that 2017 will bring!
