R.E.A.C.H. Week 2024
Rotherglen School’s own R.E.A.C.H Foundation is an endowment fund created in 2008 with the Oakville Community Foundation (OCF). This endowment fund acts as a vehicle for Rotherglen students to make a positive impact on the lives of others in our local communities. Fundraising initiatives throughout the years since the fund’s inception, coupled with very generous donations from members of our community, have resulted in exciting growth of the R.E.A.C.H Foundation, and this week our fundraising efforts have contributed a significant amount to further its development.
Through supporting and participating in planned events and activities this past week, our school community raised $17,280! We are so proud and appreciative of our school community. THANK YOU for being a part of something so memorable and meaningful! Way to go, Rotherglen!
As with all school-wide events, it is important to recognize the efforts of all those involved. A special thank you is extended to Mr. Coleman who ran the games scheduled for Grade 7 and 8 students. His support and enthusiasm is endless. Thank you to Ms. Smith who ran the BINGO game, and appreciation is extended to our Parent Volunteers who helped organize cookie dough and hot dog deliveries. Homeroom teachers are also acknowledged for their constant support and energy throughout this busy week. All teachers worked hard to make this week memorable and meaningful for our students. Thank you also to those teachers who helped supervise activities at recess. Finally, the Grade 8 Leaders must also be recognized. Everyday these students showed up ready to make the day great for everyone else. They knew where they needed to be and what they needed to do at all times, and they completed their assigned jobs with deliberate enthusiasm, confidence, and care. It was inspiring to watch how they conducted themselves. It is clear we have leaders who are ready for what high school has to offer. We are proud of you, Grade 8 Leaders! This week was a job well done!
