ROTHERGLEN STUDENTS DONATE $5,000 TO OMHS
We are thrilled to be the recipient of the winning $5,000 donation made possible by the students in the 8N class at Rotherglen School in Oakville.
The “Rotherglen Educating for Advocacy and Creating Hope” (REACH) Foundation is a student founded, student driven foundation that provides funds for various non-profit organizations each year. Earlier this year, Oakville & Milton Humane Society (OMHS) was invited to present to Class 8N on the work done at the shelter so that the students could develop a project proposal based on the information they learned. Similar charitable presentations took place in other grade 8 classes and the students were set to compete for the opportunity to make a gift to the charity of their choice.
At the end of the school year, a judging panel consisting of teachers and students, carefully evaluated all proposals done by the grade 8 students. The winning project was judged on the accuracy of the information presented, the passion with which the presentation was delivered and the neatness of the proposal.
Their hard work and passion help to ensure the OMHS can continue to care for the animals that need us.
