Creative and Athletic Camps

Children aged 7-10 will get the opportunity to spend their days engaged in a variety of hands-on activities to spark their creativity, and play sports in a structured environment while learning the importance of teamwork and cooperation

Fees for Creative and Athletic Camps:
$380 for 5 day weeks
$305 for 4 day weeks

Program Information:
• Students are required to bring their own lunches, snacks and drinks each day

• Rotherglen strives to be a nut-free and shellfish-free environment. Please ensure that food items do not contain nuts, traces of nuts, or shellfish

• No school uniform is required during the Summer Program. One complimentary Camp t-shirt will be provided, Camp t-shirts must be worn each day. Extra shirts can be purchased for $15.00.

• Outdoor play is scheduled daily (weather permitting), so please remember to send sun hats, outdoor shoes, and apply and send sunscreen daily

Fun with Science

Date:
July 4-7
Age: 7 - 10 Fun with Science is a fun, accessible way for children to explore their sense of wonder through structured, hands-on experiences and learning opportunities. Explore science and nature, mix chemicals and make slime, play in the snow, erupt volcanoes and so MUCH MORE!

Soccer Camp

Date:
July 10-14
Age: 7 - 10 Through interactive games, drills, and camp challenges, children will be introduced to basic soccer skills, such as dribbling, passing, and shooting. This camp will provide children an opportunity to develop both as young soccer players, and as teammates. Players will be given a chance to share their skills during individual, and camp-wide challenges, earning points towards their team. To conclude the week, children will participate in a ‘World Cup’ style soccer tournament where they will be encouraged to dress up and compete, as representatives of their assigned country.

Sculpture

July 17-21
Age: 7 - 10 Sculpture camp will introduce campers to the art of sculpture! Participants will learn about the various tools and techniques used in creating pottery and clay based sculptures. The hands-on tutorials and demos will enable them to manipulate form, build maquettes and imitate life-like figures and characters. They will gain the basic knowledge of sculpting an animal and human head and by the end of the week they will have sketched their own design, built an armature, formed their sculpture and textured it.

Cake Design

July 24-28
Age: 7 - 10 Sugar and art make everything nice! What better medium than sugar? Campers will enjoy their days exploring the unique art of cake decoration. They will learn about the diverse ways in which fondant is used - from covering their cake dummies with it to making small characters, flower arrangements and shapes. They will also use various icing techniques and edible decorative elements to design their cakes. At the end of the week, campers will learn how to package their beautifully designed cakes and take them home!

Basketball

July 31 to August 4
Age: 7 - 10 Students will be introduced to basic basketball skills, such as dribbling, passing, and shooting through interactive games, drills, and camp challenges. This camp will provide students with an opportunity to develop both as basketball players, and as teammates.

Lego

Date:
August 8-11
Age: 7 - 10 Lego camps help children hone their fine motor skills, counting, and problem solving skills as well as promote interests in science and engineering. Your child will receive instructions and supplies to unleash their creativity while working with other children, effectively strengthening their communication and leadership skills, and consistently exploring the different ways they can build on what they create.

Baseball Skills

August 14-18
Age: 7 - 10 Don’t miss the chance to become a softball player! Through interactive games and drills, children will be introduced to basic softball skills, such as throwing, catching and hitting, as well as learning the rules of the game. This camp will provide children with an opportunity to develop both as young softball players, and as teammates. We will be focusing on age-appropriate, fun and basic skills, hopefully with a game at the end of the week. Players will be given a chance to share their skills during individual, and team wide challenges. To conclude the week, children will participate in a friendly day of baseball drills wearing their Rotherglen baseball jersey that they will create during the week.
