YouthSpeak
As part of Mental Health Week, we invited representatives from YouthSpeak to speak to our Junior and Upper Division students. Our students listened to personal stories told by youth who suffered varying degrees of anxiety and depression, and overcame obstacles through courage, perseverance, and the support of parents and loved ones. Our students learned valuable lessons about embracing their own individuality, the power of positive thinking, and the importance of communicating with parents and loved ones when they are feeling overwhelmed, uncomfortable, or unhappy. It was a fantastic way to start a conversation about mental health.
