Rotherglen’s Learning Success Centre (LSC) brings strength to our curriculum, consistency to our programming, and provides one-on-one support to students who require this service. The program is housed in its own cozy, well-equipped facility within our school, and is led by three full-time highly qualified Resource Teachers.
The purpose of the Learning Success Centre is to provide in-house academic support to students in Casa through 8 that complements our programming. The LSC brings strength to our curriculum and programming through research and development, provides instructional classroom support to teachers and in-house, one on one academic support to students. We are passionate about our commitment to engage all students in the academic process and it is our goal to maximize their learning potential through a stimulating and supportive learning environment.
While meeting the needs of differentiated learners can often be accomplished at the classroom level, the Learning Success Centre enables the school to implement a curriculum and learning support department to greater attend to the academic needs of our students. We see the learning process to be as individual as each child we teach. This recognition requires that different learning strengths and styles are identified and accommodated in our instructional delivery. Academic support is available for both extra help and enrichment purposes.
Our comprehensive learning success program allows students to receive academic reinforcement during the school day as an alternative to other after school programs. After 20 years in the Oakville community, we see the creation of our Learning Success Centre as an evolution in our child-centered philosophy.
